november is here, and i've decided to do this again, and also this. thus, a month of blog posts whether i've got anything to say or not. and also some frantic writing, in an attempt to make it all the way to 50,000 words this time. we shall see. there are a few other things that must be accomplished this month! note how i instinctively wrote that last sentence in the passive voice. hmmm.
i spent a few days with the girl in new york. the photos below don't reflect the realities of trudging through inches of cold, slushy snow-slop in my sneakers. and then, yes, the sun came out, and my sneakers dried. interesting fact: it snowed much more uptown than downtown.

Hi! I follow your blog, and I'm excited to see you're doing the NaNoWriMo thing. I'm doing it, too, except today I'm like, "Day two. Hm. HOW IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?" But, ok. Here goes . . .
and now i follow yours as well, joanna! i tried it year before last, and i am cheating this time by using a lot of my 2009-written words to give me a jump start. last time it seemed to me that as long as you just write (and not spend any extra time thinking about writing or editing what you've written), you can (theoretically) pound out the necessary number of words per day. at least, it seemed that way to me for a couple of weeks, and then i fell behind and could never catch up. anyway, good luck to you!
thanks, good luck to you, too! i'm also using some material from notebooks to get a jump start . . . if i at least use this to make me write every day, i'll be happy!
