ohhhhh friday, how i love you.
boo made dinner tonight (pasta with tiny multicolored cherry tomatoes, lots of garlic, olive oil, and parmigiano-reggiano grated on top. bread. salad. oreos. mmmmm.). leander and kayla came over to eat with us, and now m has taken everybody bowling, while i hang out with minnow and look forward to climbing into bed with my book.
bean and kayla have to get up early tomorrow to catch their ride way up to winslow, maine, for their afs orientation weekend (kayla is spending next year in the czech republic, not so far from bean). m and i will attend the parent orientation portion of the event on sunday morning. i'm really hoping for some non-rainy spells this weekend so that m can help me tackle the weed-which-may-or-may-not-be-poison-ivy. it's taking over the back yard, and it frightens me.

I read that book! I can't wait to hear what you think of it. Now I'm reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which is great!
i just finished it -- i really liked it a lot. i thought it was sad and scary (as a parent). it made me want to read the son's book too. i'm glad you're enjoying oscar wao!
