on thursday night, m took bean and boo, plus boo's friend leander, to the museum for the first of this year's architalx lectures. they heard allison arieff speak; she was one of the founders of dwell magazine, and she co-wrote prefab, a book full of really pretty pictures of really cool modern prefab houses and buildings. i loooove prefab, yes i do. my crazy winning-the-lottery dream involves buying a very urban lot (sometimes i imagine this in portland, either in bayside somewhere or on danforth street near yosaku) and putting up a weird modern prefab dwelling. it would be totally green -- carbon zero, and maybe a green roof, even.
