obsessed, a little

remember when i told you about all the cupcakes i've been baking with recipes from vegan cupcakes take over the world? well, it's time for an update. these are for cbb tomorrow:

maple-walnut cupcakes with creamy maple frosting and sugared walnuts.

and pumpkin-chocolate chip cupcakes with cinnamon glaze.

i think both of these recipes struck me as nicely autumnal, and it's finally time to accept the fact that it's fall. not only that, but it's COLD outside (thank goodness, and ellen, for my new mean mama knucks, which keep my hands warm except for my fingers. i even wear them when i'm sewing or typing at the computer -- that's how COLD i am already).

other cupcakes i've made recently: chocolate gluten-free (much better than the vanilla, but still weirdly crumbly); cookies and cream (possibly my favorite so far -- crunched up newman o's cookies in the cake batter and in the icing); peanut butter bombes (chocolate with peanut butter icing and ganache drizzled on top); and dulce de leche (without any leche -- coconut milk, yum).
