cloak-wearing man

although it is a little scary, i have been attempting to get some photos of the various interesting characters who live in this odd little city-by-the-sea (i mean, aside from my own relatives).

the person on the left in this picture is the man who wears a long, green cloak in the winter and a large basket on his back in the summer.

sample conversation:

m: i like your cape.
cloakman: this is not a cape. this is a cloak. a cape you tie around your neck with a string.

another:

cloakman: have you seen any pirates?
barista: um...
cloakman: is your bathroom, you know, safe?
barista: um...
cloakman: because i have to tinkle.

You were very brave to take pictures of cloakman, one of Portland's most mysterious and fascinating characters!

I REMEMBER THAT GUY! One time he had a cup of tea on his table, looked up at Tim Novak, and said, "I'm very sorry about this." Then he flipped the cup upside down, pouring tea everywhere. He scampered off before Tim could stop laughing.
