i spent the afternoon with my favorite crowe getting my feet soaked in almond-scented foam and my neck massaged at soakology (what a luxurious treat that was), and then later i had the pleasure of seeing my favorite murder of crows roosting in the trees all around my house. add to that a morning coffee and chat with my favorite dancer lady, and i can almost relax about the fact that i achieved basically nothing today (except pleasure! and relaxation!). i can, in fact, because this is fuel for the next several days of getting things accomplished.

lucky me
look what arrived at my doorstep just a few minutes ago, a belated birthday gift from my bruddie! moments before that, i had been reading about this cookbook and wishing desperately that i could try this cashew cream recipe, if only my blender hadn't kicked the bucket a couple of months back. i can't even begin to tell you how excited i am about putting something in this thing and blending it. thank you SO much, david!!!

i don't see what anyone could see in anyone else
look what my valentime gave me for valentime's day!! if you're my facebook friend, you've no doubt gotten sick and tired of my status repeatedly involving me smelling myself...all as a result of a tiny sample of this lotion m acquired a while back and which i promptly fell in thrall to. it is blood orange and vanilla body milk, and it just smells so good. but it's all pricey and fancy, so i never expected to get a whole big bottle of the stuff (i've been making that little foil packet last, squeezing out tiny drops of lotion each day). mmmm, now i can smell myself all day long.

feet!
i got to cash in a birthday gift certificate today. vicky took me to soak, where we were pampered, soaked, and massaged until we dissolved into relaxed states of bliss. we were perched on a comfy couch, our feet immersed in big basins of sudsy, fragrant, hot water (my favorite part was the smooth stones on the bottom of the basin -- it was like walking on the beach, if the ocean water were steamy and almond-smelling). then we had 40-minute hot stone foot and calf massages, while being served tea and snacks. i know, it's like a fantasy of 40 perfect minutes, right? when the foot basins appeared, i planned on snapping a photo with my - ahem - iphone, to document the experience, but i was instantly so relaxed that i utterly forgot. what an amazing birthday gift!!!
