inducted

isn't "inducted" a funny word? bean was formally inducted into the national honor society last night at school with a few other smarties. it was a lovely little ceremony, and it felt like practice for her graduation in a way. as in, practice restraining myself from bawling in public (tears on my cheeks = acceptable. sobbing = not).

isn't she the prettiest little thing you ever saw? and isn't her nhs pin totally max fisher?

her crew leader (kind of her adviser), who doesn't know her all that well, said that he imagines her in a woody allen movie. or a "french neorealist film that (he) hasn't seen." later he amended this to an italian neorealist film. still, it was a strangely flattering and accurate description.

Watch out for that guy. ;)

Sounds horrible but my gifted advisor tried to kiss me when I was in the 10th grade. I laughed at him.

I felt bad for him cause he was actually my ex husband's age. Two more years and he would have nabbed me. ha. Can you imagine!? Ugh.

Great Job Bean.

Okay, but can she NOT be the teenager Woody Allen dates in the movie? Cause that would totally skeeze me out.

yeah, much as i love woody allen, i'm not sure i'd want her to be in one of his movies!

erin, i think she would laugh uproariously at the thought of mr. n. trying to kiss her. creepy.

and hello, person from another land. i'm glad you enjoyed my unscathed story!
