my favorite thing, even more than choosing what goes inside the packages, is when i force myself to slow down and wrap them carefully, each one especially for its recipient. i love to use maps. this year, i made some felt pom poms, which are not nearly as goofy looking as i'd imagined.

I am living vicariously through your wrapping. One day I will be able to create such lovely gifties. I have been wrapping nightly, in the dark, while watching television. I'm sure Christmas morning everything will look like it was wrapped by blind thumbless elves, and the gift tags will say things like "TO HERNY LOVE MORM AND DID."

seriously, there is another advantage to having your kids grow up (though it's simultaneously weird and sad and happens way too fast): more time for such things.
