cool or lame?

my kids and their friend miss gliss used to play this hilarious "game show" game they called are you cool? or are you LAME?* that's the basic idea of my wee poll over there on the right. twitter: is it cool? or is it lame? or do you have no idea what i'm talking about? i'm just kind of goofily excited about making a poll on my blog (i didn't even realize it could be done til i saw one on hillary's blog, to tell you the truth). so don't be lame! vote!

*they also played a game called tape 'em up which i never quite understood fully -- it involved one person getting taped to a chair with duct tape, as far as i could tell.

Twitter is only as good as who you're following. It also is good for very short term things...I find blog posts made of the week's tweets irritating and hard to read.

actually, i think of you as a model twitterer -- i imagine that it fits in well with school/ILS stuff, and that you have an active real-life community that connects through twitter? or am i just imagining that? also, you do a great job of tweeting stuff that's going on around c.hill. i like the real-life connection part, but i find that most of the people i follow are all about branding and self-promotion. i most like to see the tweets of people i know and like in real life.

p.s. so does that mean you voted "cool" or "lame?!"

i know you were asking David, but since i know you never say anything you wouldn't want your mother to read, i will tell you that i voted lame partly bc i felt directed to do so & that id be considered lame if i voted cool....just saying, that *might* affect your results ?

I thought it was cooler to vote lame than cool as the zeitgeist seems to have moved on to a post-twitter age...twitter was cool back when you & david were first twittering (like asymetrical haircuts were cool in 1984)

but polls on your blog are definitely cool

tape 'em up:
do you remember brain quest packs? they were collections of trivia cards attached to each other by a little plastic screw. we usually used the one for third-graders, i think. anyway, it was usually me and the madchen asking the young sir brain quest questions. when he got one wrong, we would tape an extremity to the chair. one time, we used an entire roll of masking tape. this was in the days of destination imagination.

okay, now it begins to make sense.
