to be fair, as i got closer (i did not get scared away after all, but instead i joined the line three minutes before the store opened and was rewarded with an h&m tote bag, umbrella, deck of cards, and a scratch card which won me $25 off my first purchase), it became clear that the screaming was mostly coming from the youthful h&m employees. it was packed inside. it was an h&m; smaller than an average h&m, but entirely appropriate for south portland, maine. i found the sweater i was looking for (a charcoal gray version of one i already own in navy blue), and with my scratch card i got it for a mere five dollars!
p.s. i saw several hooky-playing casco bay high students there...

I love H&M! It's probably good that we don't have one here. We basically have no shopping. Which is fine.
