bean came back from her whirlwind southern college tour on tuesday night. m, boo, and i went to the friendly toast for dinner before picking her up at the strange little airport in portsmouth (which is smaller than the portland bus station, i might add). i think there are basically three places a person can fly to from there. it was great to see her; i felt like i was practicing to greet her after her return from germany next year, so it felt particularly momentous. she really had a wonderful time with david and ellen, and she was in no rush to return home. she was gracious nevertheless.
she brought boo this stylish tar heel t-shirt, which he wore to school the next day:

If God is not a Tar Heel, why is the sky Carolina blue?
i'm positive that david and ellen ask that question every single day!
