this movie has been sitting atop our tv for about six weeks, and we finally forced ourselves to watch it a couple of days ago. you know how sometimes you're just not in the mood to think about nazi germany? it really was amazing, more inspiring than sad, and m and i did a little reading about sophie scholl and the white rose, the anti-hitler resistance group she belonged to. the actress who plays her in the film looks eerily similar to photographs of the real sophie.
