as i write this, the moon is shining big and bright in the sky. and i've been up for an hour! towards the end of the week, it gets harder and harder to stumble out of bed at 5:30. my biological clock disapproves, and when given a choice, it advises me to sleep until 9:00. or 9:30, even.

in other news, minnow smells funny. like dirty socks. i've never given him a bath in his whole life (4 and a half years), but i'm thinking now is the time.

why so early?
I know when I do get up early I feel so good about it but then I crash later in the day. I think I am a late riser by nature. Meg has a theory about this on her blog. something like if you were born in the am you are an early riser, in the evening a night owl.

i deleted my first post since I was pretty much talking backwards. not unusual i know, but this was bad even for me.

i was born around 7-8 pm. i don't think it exactly works for me, because while i'm not a morning person naturally, i also tend to crash in the evening (sometimes i get a second wind later) -- my best times are mid-morning and late night, i think.

i get up so early because i have to wake the bean up between 6-6:30 (depending on whether or not she wants to take a shower), and i find the whole day goes much more smoothly if i have a little time to myself in the morning. i like being the only one awake, sitting and sipping my tea, posting on my blog, checking email, reading yesterday's paper, etc. also, i have to make those famous lunches!!

that is very smart of you. very impressive.

last year I did wake @ 6 to work out and it really made for a much smoother morning.

that's one thing i'm incapable of doing really early (working out). i've tried to motivate myself, but my body wants to sit there and drink tea and read, only moving to assemble lunches/organize backpacks, just barely able to dress itself and brush its teeth.
