the pressure's on

did i mention that bean has decided to attend the school formerly known as "the new high school" and also as "the expeditionary learning outward bound high school," and now, finally, known as casco bay high school? she will be going on an outward bound trip in september with her class, and she has to report her current blood pressure on the official health form (there's also a very long waiver, about which my friend dancer lady, whose daughter artemis went on last year's outward bound trip, advised me, "don't read it. just sign it."). to make a short story even longer, we went to hannaford to play with the blood pressure machine.

you will be delighted and relieved to know that the machine did not bruise her, and she did not faint.

I'm so glad you paid attention to my oh-so-sage CBHS advice. The warning on the BP machine made me laugh hysterically, by the way.

you are a wise, wise woman! i know, i laughed so hard when i saw the warning, but bean was slightly terrified to go sticking her arm in there.

how exciting! i had a very similar bp machine at rite aid. did her blood pressure seem unnaturally high? mine did, and so did someone else's.

no, actually, we were afraid she'd been killed by the blood pressure machine because her blood pressure was very low. actually, it was on the low side of normal -- 90/60, if you must know!

My bp is rarely higher than 90ish over 55ish. Me and bean are just wicked mello.
